new version out
not much done but since i got rid of the most annoying thing i figured i’d release it anyway.. here’s what’s done
- could not claim interface: access denied error fixed. settings are still reset when some progs are started but they can now be set whilst running e.g. skype.
- show configuration works again.
- power line frequency control (manual 50/60Hz anti-flicker setting) added.
This version is also compatible with Klaus’ gui.

I just found this and I’m so glad! The Logitech C910 is a terrific piece of hardware. Awesome camera. But us Mac folks couldn’t realize its full potential. You guys have helped tremendously! Many thanks.

Is it possible to do a digital zoom with this version?
----------
Mon 28/5/12, 19:32
no.. i’ll implement it in the next version, if there’s any other feats you’d like please let me know! one thing i’ve got planned is setting-profiles (so you don’t have to redo all the settings after starting a program that resets them) and it’ll also include a native os x gui.
wont be able to release it for another month or two though, finals and work are getting in the way..

Klauss needs to update his GUI for all these new features, Mashing keys at a command line doesn’t work too good for video stuff ;)

sorry ’bout the delay on the new version! got a project at work that turned out to be way more work than i anticipated.. cocoa is nice as long as you’re doing something apple though you’d might do. otherwise, not as nice.

I got it to work on an new Mac Laptop, but I can’t get it to work on a Mac Pro.
Works with c615 on laptop.
Should work with c270 on Mac Pro. Comments elsewhere said the c270 works.

I finally did get it working on the Mac Pro. It seems there’s more than one version of the GUI or maybe the library.
Is there any problem installing the library more than once? Does it just overwrite the previous version?

Helllo Sarvasri!
Glad to hear that you got it to work.
yes, installing the package will simply overwrite the previous files or at least that’s what happened when i did it!
Not sure if there’s any other version of the gui out there but i do know that theres at least a few 0.x libusb-packages available. Unfortunately uvc-ctrl won’t work with them as the libusb api changed with the 1.x-branch, that’s why i built the 1.0.8 pkg.

I don’t get it to work.
My Microsoft Lifecam Studio gets recognized but changing the settings doesn’t have any effect on the image.
I get the following message though:
regexp: PCRE error -10
Maybe this has something to do with it?
I’m running Mac OS 10.7.5, libusb 1.0.8, uvc-ctrl-v0.14b and the GUI.
